Verleihnix Costume – Fishmonger in the Unyielding Gallic Village
The Verleihnix costume has now joined the wonderful Asterix comic costumes. The fishmonger Verleihnix is one of the most important characters among the villagers. He makes his first appearance in an adventure of the comic heroes Asterix and Obelix in the volume "Asterix in Spain". In this story, the first fish fight takes place in the village.
Original License Verleihnix Costume
The Gallic village of Asterix and Obelix is slowly becoming more and more populated. The stingy fishmonger with the dubiously fresh fish proudly wears the original licensed Verleihnix costume. The large, wide overalls are a one-piece, which owes its enormous waist circumference to a sewn-in hoop ring at stomach level. The suit is well suited for tall and bulky men. The upper part of the costume is made of soft, short-haired plush in black. There is a slit in the back area, which is closed with Velcro. A wide strip of brown fabric with a suede look is sewn on underneath and is intended to represent the belt. At the front, this part is decorated with crossed cord and eyelets. The Verleihnix overalls merge into red trousers, which have an elastic band at the bottom of the hem.
Wig and beard set can be ordered separately. Unfortunately the fish is not included.
Verleihnix - How fresh is the fish?
Rentnix is one of the inhabitants of the small Gallic village and an integral part of many adventures written by the authors Uderzo and Goscinny. It is somewhat unclear where the enterprising merchant gets his goods from. The information in the Asterix stories varies. The hottest favourite: Lutetio, i.e. Paris. That is not near the village and seems to be the reason for the lack of freshness of the fish. No matter. Rentnix still sells them with pride. Verleihnix – the name says it all
Verleihnix deals with complaints rigorously. When his customer Obelix complains and brings a fish back, he reacts with the words: "Take your fish back? You're crazy. This isn't a fish rental business!" That probably says it all. Verleihnix is married to Jellowsubmarine, who actively supports him in the sale, like in a fish fight. Dispute between neighbours in the village
The blacksmith Automatix lives right next to the fishmonger and makes no secret of the fact that the smell of fish has a strong effect on the Gallic mood. Trouble is inevitable. No wonder, Verleihix is insensitive to smells, and he doesn't seem to notice the "smell" of his fish in particular. Things quickly get heated between the two and the goods in the fish stall's display become projectiles. A delicious pleasure.
